I ask you for a Donation... You tell me to "Take a Hike!"
I have been exceptionally fortunate in life with my career, my wife and 2 amazing & healthy children... It's overdue that I start paying back. The last time I flew to San Diego, I saw a woman holding a Make-A-Wish sign with a child’s name on it. A likely very sick kid was flying into San Diego & getting a life long wish fulfilled (Lego Land, Shamu, Play on the field at Petco?). There are so many awesome stories of what Make-A-Wish has done and coordinated with companies, celebrities, athletes and more. Is there anything cooler than that? How about the people who made it happen...
With that said, I have decided taking part in the Trailblaze Challenge for Make-A-Wish. I will hike 26.2 miles through Bear Mountain to raise both money and awareness for kids with life threatening medical conditions. For more than just my time, as father and a human being on this Pale Blue Dot, this is a cause which I truly believe in. Make-A-Wish brings hope to children who need to find the strength & will to go through not only the symptoms of their disorders but also the invasive & sometimes debilitating medical treatments. This charity is also immensely important parents and family members whose lives have been turned upside down and would give everything that have away just to see their child with joy in their eyes.
Everyday I’m grateful for what I have and yet I've been feeling Guilty. Not guilty for having healthy & happy children, but for sitting on the sideline when I know I can help.
Please consider donating to my cause and follow me as I train to get ready for this thing! 1-day / 26.2 miles (the same distance as the bird flies from Port Jefferson to Monroe, Central Park to Stamford or Tijuana to Torrey Pines)

Since I'm in Marketing, I know that Thursdays are the best days for Social Post interactions. So here we go. Who's going to be the first to contribute to my cause??
3 miles on the training schedule for today (baby steps) - I've been running, hiking, walking & biking. Although I'm putting biking on the back burner until I get a helmet. These roads by me are NARROW and hilly.

Well Here I go. Bought new boots. Not stupid enough to hike several miles in them out the door so I'm taking my time. 3 hikes and miles down including walking around my house 16 times which was 2 miles! They are starting to break-in but need to start more elevation hikes.
